Ann L. Derentz

Ann Derentz is a producer at Polaris with emphasis in insurance for Commercial Real Estate including apartment, office and retail buildings.

Education / Professional:

Prior to joining Polaris, Ms. Derentz worked as a teacher in the San Ramon Valley Unified School District. Her specialty was English, Social Studies, Literature and History, Middle School and High School.

Before teaching, Ms. Derentz worked in the entertainment field in Los Angeles. She was Director of Marketing and Sales at MGM/UA Studios. She handled the Sales and Marketing plans for all MGM/UA movies as well as estimated grosses and statistics for their films. Ms. Derentz created the “estimation of grosses phone-in system” which is still used today at all major Hollywood studios to allow producers and directors to receive “real-time” opening box office receipts within hours of new motion picture releases.

Personal Information:

Ms. Derentz graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in History. Ms. Derentz was born in Baltimore, Maryland but grew up in Los Angeles. She has lived in the Bay Area with her husband of 19 years and their two children for over ten years.
